      Students will become familiar with the keyboard by doing introductory activities on their computers.

      Students will learn and practice the Homerow Keys by the end of 2nd grade.

      Students will do some basic writing activities using appropriate websites or a word processing program.

    Computer Basics

      Students will learn how to login to their computers using a basic username and password.

    2. b.

      Students will learn how to care for computer equipment in the computer lab and elsewhere.

      Students will learn basic mouse skills including point, click, double click, click and drag, and scrolling. 

    4. d.

      Students will learn basic computer navigation using the desktop, dock, webpages, links, tabs, and back arrows.

      Students will learn the most basic parts of a computer and computer hardware.

      Students will use computers for basic school skills practice in reading and math.

       Students will do some introductory communication activities including simple writing projects, storytelling projects, and basic slideshow projects.

       Students will do activities that help to build creative thinking skills and creative abilities.

    3. c.

      Students should be introduced to basic coding skills according to their ability level.
